Three Wise Men Spanish Style!

Yesterday, Barcelona came alive with the magic of the Three Kings! 🐪🎁🐘 On January 5th, Melchior, Caspar, and Balthasar made their grand entrance at Portal de la Pau aboard a schooner (yes, they’re boat-savvy too! 🚤).

The Mayor greeted them with bread, salt, and the keys to the city—a warm symbol of Barcelona’s legendary hospitality. ❤️

The excitement didn’t stop there! At 6:00 PM, the much-anticipated parade brought the streets to life. Floats, music, and magic surrounded Their Majesties and their entourage as they celebrated the bicentenary of the Tres Tombs de Sant Antoni in true Barcelona style—with traditional carts and nods to the city’s rich history.

🧐 Did you know?
Have you ever wondered what the ’12 days of Christmas’ actually are, beyond just an excuse for a good sing-along? Officially, Christmas kicks off on the 25th of December and carries on until the 6th of January. In the UK, the 6th of January is the day you’re meant to take your Christmas decorations down, as leaving them up any longer is supposed to be bad luck.

But in Spain, the 6th of January—the Feast of the Epiphany—is when the magic peaks, marking the adoration of baby Jesus by the Three Wise Men. 🎁✨ It’s the big day for gift-giving, inspired by the Magi’s symbolic presents of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

Barcelona, you truly outdid yourself. Who else is feeling the post-parade glow? Whether you’re a fan of Melchior’s flair, Caspar’s charisma, or Balthasar’s brilliance, it was a night to remember.
