Property Taxes in Spain: What You Need to Know!
Own property in Spain? Whether you’re a resident or non-resident, it’s essential to understand your tax obligations. Here’s a quick breakdown to keep you informed!
For Non-Residents:
If you own property but don’t live in Spain full-time, there are two main taxes to watch:
IBI — Property Tax
This is a local municipal tax paid annually. The amount depends on your property value and location. Don’t worry—your city hall will calculate and send the bill.
Impuesto sobre la Renta de no Residentes
Even if you don’t rent out your property, you’ll still need to pay this “passive ownership tax.”
Form 210 is key here. A specialist can calculate the rate, file the declaration, and ensure everything’s paid on time.
Deadline:
Submit your tax declaration by December 31 of the following year.
