“Buying property in Spain? Sounds easy. You pick a flat, sign some papers, and boom—you own a piece of the Mediterranean dream. Oh, how naïve I was… 😅
I chose my 3-bedroom flat in Badalona when it was still just a hole in the ground (they call it “early-stage construction,” but let’s be real—it was a sandbox).
Looked fantastic on the plans, I imagined myself sipping coffee on my balcony… What I didn’t imagine was the never-ending financial obstacle course for foreign buyers.
Turns out, Spanish developers don’t just take your money and smile. Oh no, they want to know where it’s from, how it got there, and probably what your grandma did for a living. 💸
